Writing
I have been a freelancer for over five years, after spending four years as a news editor for Chemistry in Britain (now Chemistry World), the monthly magazine for members of the Royal Society of Chemistry, and one year as the editor of a new publication covering pesticides and genetically modified crops.
I now regularly write for the magazines New Scientist, Chemistry World and Chemistry and Industry, and the website separationsNOW.com, which covers the latest developments in chromatography and electrophoresis.
I am also a regular contributor to both the print and web editions of the new biofuels publication Biofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining and am the contributing editor of Agrow Magazine, which is aimed at the crop protection industry.
During my time as a freelancer, I have written news and feature articles on a wide range of subjects, including nanotechnology, biofuels, genetically modified crops, pesticide research, nuclear energy, mass extinctions, molecular computing, bionic chemistry, geochemistry, analytical chemistry and astrochemistry.
Links to some of my recent articles are shown at right.
